Six Paintings, Cast in Stone and Resin

A painting is a difficult thing to translate into an object you can hold.

The temptation with work like this is to reproduce it — to print the image on the thing and call it a tribute. We have tried to do something quieter. Each set takes one painting as its only reference, and answers it in material: the colour that dominates the canvas, the weight the figure carries, the light the artist chose to withhold.
